Job Description

Our esteemed client is looking for a strong production supervisor, looking to make an industry change or a production foreman looking to take that next step in their career. Our client is looking for qualified candidate to join their strong stable company, located in the Lethbridge area.

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

* Supervising up to forty production staff all operating on a four on and four off shift schedule that includes both days and nights

* The day-to-day operations from the raw material receiving up to the finished product packaging with key focus on product quality, raw material utilization, efficient operation of equipment, workplace safety and employee issues

* Proactively foster and promote the safe work habits of employees and ensure that safety standards and procedures are enforced at all times; including active participation in taking a lead with health and safety initiatives to optimize zero incidents

* Work closely with the shift manager and other production supervisors to achieve production goals and productivity, cost delivery, morale and environment (SQCDPE)

*Win with customers and consumers by ensuring all product quality specifications are being followed and adhered to, with an emphasis on minimizing variance and eliminating customer complaints

* Ensure all HACCP guidelines, rules and regulations are being followed throughout their area of responsibility, including the accuracy of documentation

* Performance management for hourly shift employees including performance appraisals, mentoring and progressive performance and discipline as required as well as prepare schedules, manage vacation planning, and other scheduling activities

* Develop the continuous improvement morale through the support of Lean/Sigma principles and Kaizan breakthrough events

* Ensure all HACCP guidelines, rules and regulations are being followed throughout their area of responsibility, including the accuracy of documentation

* Provide MCE support

Required Qualifications:

*Proven supervisory experience in a factory/food production positions is a must, with demonstrated leadership experience

* Post secondary degree is mandatory

* Ensure all HACCP guidelines, rules and regulations are being followed throughout their area of responsibility, including the accuracy of documentation

* Strong management experience in a manufacturing setting would be considered an asset

Bonus Points for:

* Experience with Infinity QS or other statistical process control (SPC) software

Compensation & Hours:

Schedule is shift work that includes both days and nights. Salary range is $55K-$60K and will commensurate with experience.
